Hawks/Nets Preview

In trying to get back into the swing of blogging again, I'll simply say this as my Hawks/Nets preview. I don't care if Bibby or Johnson play today because my coach said that he's always said that he expects folks to step up when given the chance and that they should be ready to perform.

So, we shouldn't worry about anything (particularly my all season worry that we have been playing without real backup guards and that all it would take is ONE, much less TWO injuries to our guards to sink the tenuous attempt to make noise in the playoffs) and I'm not giving ONE pass and I don't want to see any writer or blogger giving the Hawks a pass tonight if we lose to an abysmal Nets team and a slumping Raptors team - not due to injury and not due to being on the road. I'm not giving a pass, people. Just know that...Seriously - not hearing it...

And I'm not hearing anything about Teague if he sucks either - Bibby (since PH tried to convince me that he was worth keeping as a starter has had one start worthy performance in 3 weeks vs. Golden 'we don't play defense' State) has sucked for week, so if he sucks - it happens when you sit on the bench all the time. That said, I am betting that Teague still doesn't make it north of 20 minutes tonight. I'd love to eat those words...

Go Hawks!!

When have you ever given the Hawks a pass?

@Xavier, my good brother. I really do want this year for you to come to the conclusion that despite the fact that we don't agree on lots that as Hawks fans - you could get to the point where you actually stop trying to drum up some argument with me.

If you are asking me a serious, non-sarcastic question, then the answer is a resounding YES. I have absolutely done that - I spent much of the first quarter of the past two seasons singing their praises. I have spent various blogs saying - hey, even in a LOSS - we did well or that I didn't expect us to win or to not get bent out of shape for certain things. That was me...I've done that on several occasions. So, the point is I give the Hawks a pass about a lot, but I also am hard on my team with relation to trying to develop a championship team. So, a win doesn't mean praise and a loss doesn't mean rebuke. There are no absolutes with regard to that, so let's work on our relationship - I just had a great debate with rbubp (we didn't agree on everything, but we did come to agreement on a lot and I thought it was healthy - he even convinced me of a few things). You could do the same...let's try it

And I'm writing this while watching us struggle with the New Jersey Nets during which I have yet to cuss (we have 2 more quarters before that happens).
